Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe
Wind Direction: sw then wsw
Wind Stength: 5/25
Surf / Sea State: flat in river - chop in sea
Air Temperature: 18
Sea Temperature: 15
Weather: sunshine and showers
Max Speed: 23.98 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 24.82 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

With not much wind forecast today we had a leisurely start with breakfast at The Dip where we met my sister and partner walking their dogs and then Mag and David Coles turned up so we all went for a top walk in the sunshine :) As we got back to the van the breeze had filled in so I went and got my kit and headed back to The Dip. I rigged the raceboard and headed upwind towards the peir where Chris Phillips was sailing at The Fludgers just as the cloud that was inland reached the coast :( I could have done with a bit more wind but after turning just past the Fludgers I worked the waves back to Felixstowe Ferry and then headed up the River Deben to see if the Swain Family were still at The Rocks in their yacht ?? On reaching the Rocks the wind went really light and no Swains, so I gave up sailing to Waldringfeild and started the beat back, the tide was still coming in but very high so was changing soon. The wind picked up a little on the long straight just before Bawdsey and I had fun sailing past lots of sailing boats :) With the tide now going out I beat out of the narrow River mouth through a big swell which was interesting :) The part time Felixstowe rescue boat headed out to tow in a broken down speedboad !! The wind out to sea was now wsw with a real wind shadow at The Dip but it was quite breezy out to sea and this is when I got my fastest speed :) So not a bad 164 mins out in the sunshine and showers :)
